Having soul mates, peace of mind, laughter, sunshine, good health and a healthy bank balance.

WHAT ALTERNATIVE CAREER PATH WOULD YOU HAVE FOLLOWED?

I’m very complex. I like the idea of being a spy or secret agent as I like to be impulsive and I love adventure. I also like taking risks. They can give you big rewards. I love pressure and work best in these conditions otherwise I am good at procrastinating. But I also like the idea of being an art curator. I am interested in the history of works of art. Everything has a story. I would love to restore art, travel, buy, sell and exhibit interesting pieces.

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST FEAR?

I try to overcome my fears. I’ve had a few in the years from purposely always being socially distracted because I didn’t like to be alone to having a fear of heights. I like to challenge myself and improve my weaknesses. I like to push my limits so I become stronger.

WHO OR WHAT IN YOUR EYES DEFINE 'BEAUTY'?

Aesthetically, I admire natural beauties. Peace, acceptance and a positive attitude can make one very beautiful.

WHAT NATURAL TALENT WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE GIFTED WITH?

I’d love to be able to sing or play a few instruments. I think music can bridge people through good and bad times. A song can always make you remember a moment in time. I’d love to be part of or make a mark on the lives of peoples that I don’t know exist.

 WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST BEAUTY EXTRAVAGANCE?

Beauty maintenance! If I think about regular bikini waxes, mani’s, pedi’s, blow dries, threading, yoga and pilates classes that I spend my money on .... it ends up costing a fortune.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST TREASURED POSSESSION?

My body and mind. It is priceless.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE ALL TIME BEAUTY LOOK/TREND?

The beach babe look. Tousled waves, tanned sun-kissed skin and a glossy complexion.

WHAT IS YOUR LIFE PHILOSOPHY?

Live, love and be happy. Nothing is impossible and don’t ever give up on anything you want. If you work hard enough on it you can get it.

To maintain a spot and blotch free face: Do not use brushes, clothes, or flannels on your face, they are full of bacteria. Do not dry your face with a towel, also full of bacteria. Dry your face with a round flat cotton pad and throw away. Do not use sponges to apply foundation for the same reason and use round flat cotton wool pads to  apply powder, then throw away.

Mally is an amazing New York based make up artist that has worked consistently with A-listers such as Beyonce (official artist for many years) Angelina Jolie, Claudia Schiffer, Maggie Gylenhaal, Jennifer Lopez . She has her own line of make-up which I personally have found to be fantastic (I'm hooked on her concealer, mascara and glosses!). Well, if you know me, it's not much of a secret, but... translucent powder is the enemy!!!! I have given it the nickname  "wrinkle finder" - it makes you look older, drier, cakier, funkier...not cute! My ladies out there deserve better!  To me, my mother, Dr. Pilar Roncal, is the definition of beauty. Not only was she absolutely beautiful on the outside, but she was beautiful on the inside as well. She believed that everyone should be treated like a superstar, and that is something that I will always take with me. I live every day to honor her spirit.

WHAT NATURAL TALENT WOULD YOU LOVE TO BE GIFTED WITH?
 I wish I loved to exercise!!!

WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST BEAUTY EXTRAVAGANCE?
I have to say I am a little bit of a lash addict! I am a mascara junkie and I used to spend upwards of one hour creating these full, thick, amazing lashes on my clients, which I was able to simulate in my Volumizing Mascara. When I need a little something extra, I use multiple sets of false lashes to create a perfect, customized look--it really helps to not only open up the eye, but to help make the face look more wide awake and fresh.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST TREASURED POSSESION?
 I kept all of my mother's clothes, shoes, and jewellery, and each piece is so incredibly special to me. My mother had the FIERCEST style; seeing her wardrobe everyday mixed in with my own reminds me of her beautiful energy, her strength, and inspiring personality.

WHAT IS YOUR ALL TIME FAVOURITE BEAUTY TREND/LOOK?
One of the looks I am most known for is the "Signature Mally Glow"--that look of beautifully healthy, dewy skin. It's so fresh and modern!

Something that was taught to me at a very young age is what makes us different is what makes us beautiful. As a makeup artist, my goal is not to change the way you look, not in the slightest. Rather, I want to bring out the most beautiful you.
